Hello! I am committed to working as hard as I can to serve neighbors in Airport Heights, Russian Jack, and Mountain View. Your priorities are my priorities and I will work hard every day to earn your support.
Your safety is my priority!
Too many of our neighbors are in need of services that either don't exist or take too long to get or are too expensive. This needs to change.
Anyone can experience addiction and services need to be there when people are ready and wanting help.
In the recent past, public safety positions were cut and it's taking years to rebuild these staff. In the meantime, Alaskans are less safe. Every Alaskan has a right to feel safe and I will work hard to ensure these are budget priorities.
Every student in every school deserves the best education and our full support.
Our legislators have made education funding a political football and keep playing games that are hurting our children. Supporting public education is a constitutional right and I will uphold my oath and focus on supporting our students.
Everyone should have a path to success and we need more options to engage all of our students.
Powerful interests have pushed and succeeded in passing budgets that benefit some and leave others behind, with the impacts being felt the hardest in our area.
For many years now, the budget solution has been to balance the budget on the backs of the poorest and most vulnerable. This is wrong. We need a balance that asks everyone to give, not just the poor and vulnerable.
Neighbors were outraged that while they waited in long lines for SNAP benefits and couldn't feed their families, legislators, almost half that were brand new, gave themselves a $30,000 pay raise. The average income for our area is just over $30,000. This is so wrong. With legislators abusing the process to their benefit, it's clear that citizens need to be a part of this decision making.
Some legislators used to prioritize this policy work, but now seem to have given up. I am learning as much as I can to reignite this important discussion that has to be part of our long-term fiscal plan. With corporations making record profits while neighbors can't get SNAP benefits or Medicaid, it's clear our legislators have their priorities wrong.
Please get in touch with your priorities!
